Hi
Currently: I completed my SEND degree in May and i graduate at the end of October!
I have been working in health care for 11 years, currently looking after young lads on a 1-1 basis with LD and autism 4 maybe 5 or 6 shifts a month. I was a TA in my local SEN school from January 25 to end of term. This ended when my business picked up. I currently work early till just after 7 Mondays, Tuesday with my 1-1 lads but looking to find more self employed clients and every other Wednesday evening. Thursdays im lucky to get a lie in and start just before 12 till 4ish and Friday mornings. I work average of 4 out of 6 Saturdays and 1 Sunday. I do have weekend space and 'irregular' or 'one off' space available.
I started as a cleaner and then a kitchen porter. I worked my way up to elderly carer to support worker. I was the Beaver Scout Leader for Totnes Beavers from January 2023 to July 2024 (hoping to restart when available), but I was a volunteer for many years before covid. I engaged in work experience in schools and nurseries while I was at South Devon College with ages 1 to 5.
I have autism. I feel this is a great help when l look after disabled people as I have a wider understanding of how it effects people. I have a wide knowledge of different things disability and disabled related as well, from understanding, form filling and much more.
I have level 3 in childcare and level 3 health and social care. I also have level 2 nvq in youth work.
So, are you the main caregiver in need of a break? Do you wish for a trusted, reliable partner to care for your loved one while you recharge? Look no further. I am funny and lots of fun, I'm kind, caring and outgoing. I have a huge heart and I care deeply. Your disabled family member will have loads of fun with me, exploring new things or keeping their routine.
